November is the time when we see changes in our plants and grass as they get ready for their winter rest. The leaves in some trees change colors and fall to the ground. In Golf Lakes we see our northern residents returning and many of our activities setting their fall and winter schedules. It is a time for renewing old friendships and making new ones. Welcome back to all our returning residents.

The Board met in October and voted to start having activities in the clubhouse main hall. Saturday morning Coffee and Social time began on October 16, 2021, with some restrictions and some changes. You will find that information in another article in the Banner and on our GL Friendly Facebook page and channel 732. November brings our Welcome Back picnic. This year we are being treated by someone who is preparing all the food and serving. As before, it takes place on the lawn to the north of the clubhouse. Bring your chairs and sit under the trees or just drive up and sit in your golf cart. All residents and renters are welcome. More details elsewhere in the Banner. The date is November 13, 2021, at 4 PM. Also in November, we will have our first Communication of the year in the hall with a guest speaker. That date is November 1, 2021, at 7 PM. We will also begin holding our New Resident Orientation meetings. All residents purchasing their unit within the last 2 years should attend these meetings. The first one is November 10, 2021, at 10 A.M. and the 2nd will be December 15, 2021, at 10 A.M. Each meeting will last about 2 hours and is a really good opportunity to learn the ins and outs of our park and a chance to ask questions and get answers from those folks that have lived here for a while. Residents will receive a letter regarding which meeting to attend-not everyone can go to 1 meeting.

All these events will be shown on our in-house channel 732 and on the GL Friendly Facebook Page. Also, please remember all events are subject to change and mask are encouraged and at your discretion in the clubhouse. Be considerate of your fellow residents if their viewpoint is not the same as yours.

We have received word that at this time there will not be a Thanksgiving Dinner in the clubhouse. Catering large groups is difficult due to lack of staff and costs.

As we navigate the changes that Covid has given us let us all be Thankful and remember how blessed we are to have a home in our beautiful Golf Lakes. .Be kind, be courteous, be compassionate. Welcome Back to Golf Lakes. Remember-SANTA IS WATCHING.
