January President's Report


Welcome to 2019. Hope everyone has a great year.

January 7, 2019 is our Annual Meeting. This is a meeting where we need a quorum. Everyone should have received their packet for this meeting. You are urged to carefully read all material and return your votes to the office as instructed in the cover letter. Please direct any questions to the office or a Board member.

This year we have several items for which to vote. We have 7 good candidates for the Board; you may vote for 3.


We also have a Bylaw change for which to vote. To get approval “Per the Golf Lake Residents Association attorney, a Bylaw change is approved by a 2/3 vote of the membership certificates (units) present at the Annual Meeting in person or by proxy.” All membership certificates (units) represented in person or by proxy will be counted. The outcome of the Bylaw change will be determined by whether or not there is a 2/3 majority voting in person or by proxy in favor of the Bylaw change. The statement that it will take 520 votes to pass the Bylaw change was incorrect. Voting for the amendment will enable the Board to include internet with cable service in any bulk contract negotiated for the park. The Board is in favor of this amendment and urges you to vote yes. This will enable the Board to go forward with the Spectrum contract and add a new amenity to our park. Please contact a Board member if you have questions regarding this contract and the cost to each unit.

The other items which require votes are standard items included each year in your packet. Your yes votes are encouraged. If you are unable to attend the Annual Meeting, please sign your Proxy and return it with the other papers.

We will know the result of all votes and who the new Directors will be the night of the meeting. Thank You to all the candidates for their willingness to be a member of the Board of Directors. Thank You to everyone who attends and votes.

We will have two (2) Board meetings monthly January through April. They are the 2nd and 4th Thursday at 9AM in the Board room. All residents are encouraged to attend any meeting to see how the business of Golf Lakes is conducted.

We are always looking for volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering see any Board member and they will be glad to help you.
