Managers Report February 2021 - Pam McFarland

The Annual Meeting will be Monday, February 8, 202 at 7:00 p.m. Votes will not be accepted after 7:00 p.m. on the 8th. The annual meeting like so many other things will be completed differently due to Covid-19. A quorum must be obtained to have the meeting. Please be sure to fill out and sign the proxy and turn in to the office as soon as possible. Residents must sign their blue ballot or they will not be counted. There will not be an election for the Board of Directors this year as there are three openings and only three residents who declared their candidacy.

I want to express my appreciation to last year’s Board of Directors for all their work and help. I would like to acknowledge the service of Beryl Atkinson to Golf Lakes as a Board Member for 3 years. Mr. Atkinson has been a real asset to the Board of Directors for the Association. He also served as President of the Realty Board of Directors. We appreciate all that he contributed to the business of Golf Lakes.

The annual meeting requires a lot of work on behalf of the Board, staff and volunteers. Thank you all !

We appreciate all our volunteers, if you have a complaint about any policy set by the Board of Directors please defer those complaints to the Board or myself. Please do not give our volunteers a hard time and if you are volunteering please tell anyone complaining to you to contact a Board member or the Manager.

Board Meetings are normally the second and fourth Thursdays of the month during the season. Until further notice these meeting will be zoom meetings. The notice of meeting and agenda are posted on Tuesday of the week of the meeting by 9 a.m. on the bulletin board outside the office entrance and on the one in the foyer inside the office entrance door. All Board Meetings are open to all unit owners. An e-blast is sent out 48 hours containing the zoom information and agenda. If you want to receive the e-blast please be sure the office has your email address.

The accountant should be getting close to completing the review of the Association’s financial records by the time this article is published. It is always good for the office staff to have this process accomplished for another year. Cindy and Vickie’s great work ethic is seen especially this time of year and resident’s patience during this busy time was appreciated. You will get a postcard notifying you that the Audit/Review is available. You can then pick it up at the office or request it be e-mailed or mailed to you.

It is very important that residents report any wet areas you discover in the park to the office so that it can be checked for a water line break.

In a recent drive through the park on an overcast day I noticed several homes with mildew, especially awnings and the north side of homes. Letters have gone out to have this work done. To prevent being sent a letter take a walk around your home and take care of maintenance items while you are here.

Do not forget that remotes are no longer needed to exit the park from the north gate or 53rd Ave. gate.

Golf Lakes is posted as a NO SOLICITATION community. Please do not purchase from vendors going door to door in the Park, instead tell them there is no soliciting in Golf Lakes and call the office to report them.

Feeding food to the wild life I know is fun for some. But, please do not encourage wild life to be fed at your individual units. Please check the bulletin board for information on feeding Canadian Geese and the effects of doing so.

On Thursday, March 11th there will be a Spring Clean-Up Day. The garbage collectors will take away all items put out to the curb except for paint and hazardous materials. Please take this opportunity to clean out, especially things stored outside. Outside items need to be stored away, anchored permanently or removed when you depart Golf Lakes. Please consider getting rid of items that cannot easily be put inside quickly.

RULE REMINDER: GUESTS 1. A MEMBER’S GUEST WHO IS A FAMILY MEMBER, MAY REMAIN IN A MEMBER’S HOME IN THEIR ABSENSE OR WITH A MEMBER FOR NO MORE THAN (60) DAYS WITHIN A SIX-MONTH PERIOD AND THEN SIX MONTHS MUST ELAPSE BEFORE THEY CAN REVISIT. UNACCOMPANIED GUEST(S) MUST BE 21 OR OVER. ANY GUEST OCCUPYING A UNIT IN THE OWNER’S ABSENCE MUST REGISTER AT THE OFFICE. 2.
