March is here and many of our residents will begin thinking about heading north soon. A reminder for those who are leaving soon: Put all items that can blow away in a storm inside and put your awnings down. Do not rely on whoever is checking your house during your absence to do this for you as they will need to secure their own property in case we have to evacuate. March is still a busy month. Night of Music, Health Fair, Parking Lot Sale, final sports games, tournaments and banquets, completing craft group projects, are a few. You can check the Banner for dates and times. Another yearly activity is our annual clean out day when you can put anything out to be picked up by our trash service. March 9th is the date this year. I have received complaints about the cigarette butts in the streets. Please put the butts and your trash in a proper container, not in the street. This is a beautiful park, let’s keep it that way. On the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month October through April, at 9:00 A.M. your Board of Directors meets in the boardroom. This is an open meeting and all residents of Golf Lakes are invited to attend. Attending is a good way to see what and how your Board of Directors makes decisions and sets policy. You are invited to attend. If you have a concern or suggestion, contact me or our manager, Pam McFarland, at least 72 hours prior to a meeting, and you will be added to the agenda. Each item must be on the agenda before the Board can take action. At the end of each meeting the President asks each resident in attendance if they have comments or concerns. This is your chance to say a few words to the Board. To all of you leaving at the end of March, have a safe trip wherever you are heading. Have a great summer and we will see you in the fall.
