It has been another busy and successful season. The staff and I truly appreciate all our residents and wish you a wonderful summer. Now that the season is officially over we will begin our summer schedules along with taking vacations. We will also begin completing our summer projects list in preparation for next season.


The Spectrum contract for cable and internet has been signed by both parties. The contract included all 780 units in Golf Lakes and will be part of your maintenance fees. The Association has been told that all 780 residents will be receiving a letter from Spectrum informing them on how and when they can have the cable and internet installed if they don’t have it already. If an installation fee is charged please pay it and bring the bill to the office. The Association also will be sending letters to every resident with the same information when we have it and the amount you will need to pay for maintenance fees for July and October payments.


The Board of Directors has hired a company to shut down the Park water system in June in an attempt to find water leaks. When you leave for the summer you must shut off your water to your unit, don’t forget to turn off electric to hot water heater. The office has red ribbons to put on your water shut off to indicate it is off, if you have not been provided with one prior to leaving please pick one up and put on. Full time resident please watch for the date of NO WATER in June’s Banner, in house channel, website and announcement.

I want to thank all the committees that I have had the opportunity to work with this season. I appreciate all the work these committees do and the time that they sacrifice to make Golf Lakes the great park that it is. In my communication with other Managers, Golf Lakes has a unique community spirit and it is awesome to see it at work.

The Board of Directors in 2005 approved locking the clubhouse if there is a mandatory evacuation notice given for mobile homes in Manatee County. Summer residents need to plan now and beginning making arrangements to leave the park in case of an evacuation.

Remember in your absence, you need to have your guest check in with the office upon arrival. Only family members can use your unit in your absence. Also, it is the resident’s responsibility for their guest knowing and following the rules of the park. Please stress the pool rules as they are often overlooked. Residents have the authority to remind other residents and guests of the rules.


The office will be closed Monday, May 27th in observance of Memorial Day.


Rule Reminder: IX. 6. Residents or visitors with utility trailers, motor homes, campers or travel trailers shall park the same in the designated area in the North parking lot (providing space is available) for no longer than seventy-two (72) hours within a ten day period. Owners must post the address and phone numbers (on the vehicle) of the resident using the North lot for parking. Otherwise the same shall not be permitted in the Park. Vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense. 7. No campers, travel trailers, or motor homes shall make use of the south parking lot at any time.
