May President's Report - By Mark Hooker

Golf Lakes is getting quiet. It is obvious that many of our residents have gone north for the summer. Most of our activities are over. If you are here at the end of this month, remember that we have a Memorial Day ceremony and picnic (in the clubhouse). Everyone is welcome. The Activities Committee will be telling everyone about that event soon.

The new contract with Spectrum will start this month. This contract will contain TV and internet service. The cost for this package will be $39.99 plus tax per month for all 780 residents. This will be included in your monthly maintenance fees beginning July 1, 2019. This is a great amenity for Golf Lakes.

For those leaving during May, make sure you put away all items that can blow away during a storm. Also turn off the water to your home and the electric to your water heater. In June, we will be checking for water leaks throughout the entire park. The rule to shut off your water is new and is permanent. We are again asking for you to leave your yard lights on this summer. Light is a deterrent to thieves.

Some of the summer jobs that we will have done this year include paving in Phase 5, checking for water leaks in June, and trimming palm trees in late August or September. Hopefully, we will not experience any big storms this year and the park will be as you left it when you return.

Have a great summer. My wife and I will see you in the fall.
