Presidents May Report - Mark Hooker

I am writing this on April 8, 2020, in the middle of our Stay-at-Home orders from our Governor. All we can do now is walk, ride bikes or our cart in the park, and visit friends and neighbors from 6 feet apart, or by phone, skype, facetime and zoom. We can still play golf in the park and at the Greens of Manatee. We are very fortunate to be able to enjoy being outside. Our park is beautiful. Our families in other areas are having bad weather and cannot get outside like we do.

The main gate is now closing at 6P.M. daily and opening at 7 A.M. daily. It will remain that way until further notice.

The Board had one meeting in April to finalize things for summer. This was done in the hall so we could use social distancing.

By now (the first of May) many of our residents have returned to their summer homes up north. We wish them well and look forward to their return to hopefully a normal park.

Our office staff is working from home as much as possible. They do come in one or two days a week. Our maintenance staff is only working on jobs that need to be done like recycling and mowing the golf course.

This is a short newsletter because there is not much to report. Currently, we do not know of any cases of virus in Golf Lakes. Hopefully it will remain that way. We are hoping that everyone survives this, a cure or vaccine is found, and everything can return to normal in the fall. Nancy and I wish everyone a safe, healthy summer. We will see you all this fall.
