Presidents Report February 2021 - Mark Hooker

Happy Valentine Day.

Our Annual Meeting will be this month. It will be held by zoom and the link will be sent to you. Make sure the office has your email so you can receive this link. If you do not have a computer, you may come to the clubhouse and observe the meeting there. Social distancing and masks are required. Our Sheriff of Manatee County, Rick Wells, will be here with several other officers. We will have other speakers, and we will conduct our annual business as always. This year’s Annual Meeting is February 8, 2021, at 7:00 PM by zoom or in the clubhouse if you do not have a computer. We encourage everyone to attend in either way possible.

Even though you will not come to the hall to sign in for a quorum, you must sign and return your proxy. We must have a quorum, and this is the only way this year to have your votes counted and read the necessary votes. You will be voting on the Reserves, Audit or Review, and Resolution for Golf Lakes Association, Inc. These items are important items that you must vote on. Please make sure you sign and date all paperwork before you turn it in.

Every year we elect 3 directors. Any resident is eligible to be a director. We only received 3 applications this year. You will meet the candidates during the annual meeting. We did not need to have an election with only 3 candidates for 3 openings

I would like to Thank Beryl Atkinson for being a Director for the past 3 years. He did a great job. Thanks Beryl. We will miss you at Board Meetings.

I would just like to make this point in case people have not realized it yet. The longer you do not comply with social distancing, the longer we are going to have to do it.

My wife and I wish everyone a Happy Valentines Day. Take care and be safe.

One Liner

There may be no excuse for laziness, but I am still looking for it.

NEW FLAGPOLE AT MAIN GATE During January, a new flagpole was installed behind the wall you face as you enter the park. This was made possible by the GENEROUS donation of Joe Bilodeau. He has donated enough to cover the cost of the pole, flags, and material for the installation. Several of our residents volunteered their time and energy to do the installation. THANK YOU, JOE. This is a beautiful addition to our entrance, and it is appreciated.
