September President's report

So far this summer has been quiet with no storms and not as much rain as in the past two years. Your lawns, flowers, and shrubs are growing very fast and our staff is keeping the park looking nice. The palm trees have been trimmed and look good.

This summer has seen three homes removed and two new ones put in place. The new homes are at 5019 8B Street and 802 49C Avenue. There was a vacant lot at 5010 7D Street East and it now has a new home. We took out a home at 4922 3B Street and that lot will have a new home in either September or October. There will be two more homes removed, 4909 7A Street and 5104 7 D Street East. The lot on 7A will have a new home put on it and the lot on 7D has no new home scheduled and is currently for sale. All of these are improvements to Golf Lakes. The home on 7D is being removed as this article is being written.

The Labor Day Picnic looks like it will be a success. We’ll have hamburgers this year instead of hot dogs. Yum, yum! Great change!

September is our last quiet month. October will see Board meetings beginning and some of our Standing and Operating Committees will start having meetings. September is also the month when some of our winter residents return. Safe Travels!

We are still looking for candidates for the three open positions on the Board of Directors. If you have any interest in being a Director, I encourage you to attend the meetings starting in October. Our Directors are all here at that time and the business of the park begins after the summer recess. This is your park. Come and see what the Board does at these meetings.
